English Language Support and Skills
Grades 9 and 10: Due to the rigorous nature of the IGCSE, students are tested for, and expected to have, a moderately high level of English language skill when speaking, listening to, writing and reading English. VIS does offer minimal English Language Support to students at this grade level. If after being admitted it is determined that student needs support beyond what is offered by the school, parents must secure tutoring at their own expense.
Grades 11 and 12: Due to the highly rigorous nature of the IB/DP, students are expected to be virtually fluent in English at the time of admission. If it is later determined that a student needs support to be successful in the IB, tutoring must be provided at family expense.
